I was recently awarded this tag by the lovely Vicky at ladybug says..sorry for taking so long to fill it in, vicky!! :)
What is your favourite fashion accessory?
At the moment I do seem to have caught the hats bug!! I already own a beret in about every imaginable colour, and have been branching out into the world of trilbys over the summer, and cloche hats now it's getting colder..I'd love to be able to pull off a 20s look like Angelina Jolie in Changeling.
Who's your fashion role model? (In real life and YouTube/Blogging)
I really have got a total style crush on Paloma Faith at the moment..most of her looks do seem to be a little bit extreme for everyday wear, but then again, i like extreme and experimenting..and she does seem to go for all kinds of colourful combinations - i love the big skirts, hairpieces and heels of which she seems to be a fan..
What do you always carry with you?
well, as i'm totally disorganised, i always carry my diary with me..it's quite a chunky paperchase one, about a5 size, because i tend to keep all things like tickets, etc in it as well.. and i like to have a page per day..other than the obvious phone, keys, purse, it's that and a pot of carmex lip balm at all times..i always forget to carry with me: a pen, spare change for car parking, paracetemol, and they are all things i often need - must be more organised! i also really need to find a new one in time for next year - paperchase, here i come :)
What would you describe your style as?i really have pondered long and hard over this one, i'm not really sure how to answer it, other than it is just all of the lovely things which i am drawn to when shopping..i go for girly styles and favour skirts and dresses over anything else - i tend to wear dresses on a daily basis! i also have a great love for heels, and wear them as much as physically possible..i'm much more drawn to patterns, and favour floral prints over plain-jane wardrobe staples..
What inspired you to blog about fashion?
oooh, well since i'm not a fashion-trendie, i'm not sure if my blog counts as a 'fashion' one..i started it for a number of reasons, the main one to be a little oline diary-type escape, which i could call my own and vent when necessary (although i hopefully haven't done that too often!) anothe reason was i wanted to start to think more about what outfits i put together, and to try and make use of some of the things i have, and have never worn, into outfits..also a lot of the girls on the fashion thread i post on were interested in seeing the way outfits looked as i was hopeless at describing them!
What is your favourite fashion store/shop?
despite the fact that i think their newly-launched website didn't live up to expectations, i think h&m is one of my favourite high street stores..i like the fact that there is such a huge range of types of clothes - something for everyone, and in the past there have been some fabulous colourful prints and quirky pieces which i love - it used to be one of the only places i shopped as a student! i do really like to shop high-street, although i'm not one to shy away from a bargain either, but i don't find that i ever seem to come across the scores of fabulous charity shop or car boot bargains which other bloggers seem to! other high street favourites are primark, topshop (although i don't vry often buy from there, and recently haven't seen as much that i even like) and more recntly, river island..
not that i'm shoppping this month!! :)
What is your favourite fabric in clothing?
i'm not all that fussy when it comes to fabrics, i choose colour and pattern over feel most of the time..if i'm buying fabric to make dresses, i tend to go for cotton, or an old curtain or something if from a charity shop etc, but usually only bcause it tends to have the best patterns, again!
Who is your favourite designer?
Irregular choice - need i really elaborate?!
Who/what inspires your style?
i don't really have a style role model to copycat, i just go for things i like and work from there..more often than not i will style an entire outfit around something little i have just bought or rediscovered in a wardrobe, or a pair of shoes, and go from there..when shopping, i tend to get drawn to kitsch and colourful patterns, and would say i really like the 50s rockabilly / pin up style..if i could wear giant floral skirts with petticoats under them every day, i would (sometimes i do!), and heels and cardis..
i guess more recently i do get inspired by other people's blogs, and what they are wearing with what..i also love to people-watch, in starbucks or whatever, mainly to see what they are wearing, and with what..usually if i see an idea i like, i may try to incorporate it into a future outfit..i guess i get my inspiration from a number of places!
What would you choose to do - buy something in high quality or make it yourself if you could?
i do love making things, my only real problem is that i'm so disorganised that i end up with a list as long as my arm of things i want to get round to doing, and then never do them..i think i may use up all of my remaining holidays and hve some time off, with a list, and see if i can get to the end of it and finish all the half-made creations!
I'd like to tag: anyone who hasn't yet filled this in and fancies it, as i know i'm one of the last!
