Last weekend, I joined a coachload of my rangers, my friend and her guide unit and went to the LG Arena in Birmingham to see the Big Gig 2012 - a concert arranged by Girlguiding for girls aged 10+, which they were rather excited about.
Whilst the acts were perhaps not people who I would have chosen to buy tickets to see (including the likes of The Saturdays, Olly Murs, Rizzle Kicks, Alexandra Burke, Matt Cardle, and the girl who sings the Calling's cover on the tea advert), the LG was pretty much full and the excitement in the atmosphere was rather infectious; I definitely enjoyed myself and was glad we'd decided to apply for the tickets!
Highlights of the day were when I got about a million texts whilst waiting for the bus to pick me up, asking for various Starbucks orders (and then realising I didn't have enough hands to carry all of the drinks and having to enlist the help of a charming man behind me in the queue), directing the bus driver down the toll road by mistake, dancing like a loon to Rizzle Kicks songs, and musically I liked Matt Cardle's version of Many of Horror best as I love that song.
I don't think I've worn this skirt other than as a petticoat before, but I figured that I would revert back to my uni-student self with the tutu-dress-code for all gigs..
