#BEDM Day 9: Social Media?

I suppose that this is quite an easy topic for me as well. I only really spend my time on one type of social media (unless blogs count as well?) and that's twitter. I like the way it can be used to chat to friends, to share links quickly and to interact with brands. (Although that doesn't ALWAYS work).

I don't think since downloading the app I've ever even looked at Instagram, I no longer have a facebook account, have never really got into the whole Youtube thing, and am too concerned for the time I'd spend on it if I ever got started on Pinterst.

I guess the main reason I don't bother with that much social media is the fact I choose not to have an internet connection at home. I know people are probably about to have me banished to some kind of asylum for that admission, but I don't. Nor do I have a laptop. Or an iPad. Or any desire for either of the above.

i am however surgically attached to my phone, and usually twitter..
I use the 3G on my iPhone to keep up with twitter and sometimes read some blogs or scour ebay, but that's about it. That said, I was pleased to be asked to review a new charging cable, as my one frustration about the iPhone is how quickly the battery dies as soon as I connect to the internet or check my emails. This means I need to make sure I have a charging cable in my car, one in my computer and one at home.

This live wire charging cable from The Snugg is pretty good, with the added bonus that it has really simple lights which mean it lights up through the cable when it's charging and the lights go out when it's charged. The only downside is that it's not a very long cable; to get it plugged in to the back of the computer I had to add an extension lead. But it plugs easily into a wall socket adapter, so it's not a problem at home. And anything which means I don't lose charge and let my phone die when an ebay auction is about to end is a bonus, right?!

  1. just got youre post... oh nooo, what did you shout at her about? im always doing that... and i ALWAYS feel bad about it afterwards - but sometimes you just need to get it out!! :p

im useless at twitter. i had an account and then just never used it! im a facebook girl... i cant handle both! x

  2. Oooh, I like your coat- can we see it in detail!x

  3. I know what you mean! I finally got an android the other day and love having email, twitter, and internet on their. It's so convenient and addicting!

  4. I think it's really good that you've limited your use of the internet. I love being social online but I have to say there were whole weekends where that was all I did. I can still be bad with it sometimes but I am getting less attached - university has sorted that out for me - even my blog has suffered because of it - too many assignments! It's good to have a balance with social media. That dress is lovely too - did you buy it? - Tasha xxx
