Once I'd finally got around to unpacking the spoils of last weekend's Leeds shopping trip, I couldn't wait to try the bowler hat out with this floral dress I'd discovered in Primark. I actually didn't see it on my first visit (although the shop had been rather busy in the morning when I'd first been in, and I'd given one of the sections a wide berth because from afar it looked as though all they had over there were tacky tartan/PVC dresses. Not for me).

Lisa and I popped in again after the ballet to try and find her a onesie. I was pleased to find that the Monsters Inc PJs I'd seen earlier in the day had had their stock replenished and I was able to pick up a pair in my size which hadn't been there earlier, as well as finding this dress on a rail as we walked past. I'm glad I took a chance on the size, which I hadn't been sure about, as it actually fits me quite nicely.

I'm trying so hard with adopting hats as a finishing touch to all outfits. I have such a collection of hats and added this pale blue one to that at the weekend as I just couldn't resist the combination of the colour and the fact that amazingly, I managed to find a hat which fitted my huge head. I always feel so "obvious" in a hat, though. As though everyone is going to be looking at me. I'm not sure why, but I figure that the only way to get over that is to get more used to wearing them, as I really don't want to have to part with any of them.

Incidentally, I've added a few more things to the blog sale as I'm continuing to make progress with the wardrobe clearout - well, I have to make some room for all of the new clothes, don't I? - and I've been looking for cheaper ways of posting things out as well as I've had enough of the post office lately. I've tried using this site to find the best way of posting things out an it's pretty good, I'd recommend it.

  1. This hat is lovely, I really like the colour! I know what you mean about feeling very obvious in hats but I am going to try and embrace them this winter!
