You'll always find me in the kitchen at parties..

I popped into TK Maxx last week with a giftcard burning a hole in my pocket. Our store is quite new, now and there's a part of me which sort of misses the "treasure trove meets jumble sale" look and feel of the old one. I still quite like the fact that you can go in to any store with absolutely no idea what you might find, and the knowledge that if you see something good in one store, you really need to pick it up then and there, as it's not often to be found in another.

I spent a little of my voucher on some Christmas presents - I didn't think to take a photo before wrapping, but there was a lovely copy of Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol', which I picked up for a friend who can be tricky to buy for.

And these things, I managed to spot for my kitchen. The cake slice, spoons and knife remind me very much of a set I recently saw in Anthropologie recently (but of course were much less pricey!) and I was pleased to snap them up.

The little blue-lidded jars were £1.99 each and I thought they would be perfect for keeping things in the store cupboard like spices and yeast for when I'm baking bread, as the little sachets that comes in can be a bit of a pain if you don't use them all at once.

And the glass storage jar just struck me as cute, with the heart detail on the front. Not sure what I'll keep in it yet - possibly coffee beans for use with my coffee grinder.

Of course, I can't find any of these things on the website (whose doesn't often bear any resemblance to the things seen in store) but I think my total spend was less than £25 for all of the above, which I thought was rather good!
