2014.

Happy New Year!

Now, I wouldn't say that last year was particularly bad, but a few things which happened weren't the best, so I'm glad of a new start. A line in the sand, as it were. I've been giving quite a bit of thought to last year's challenges and resolutions, new challenges and goals for the year.

52 in 52 challenge
I'm rather amazed to report that I just managed this one in 2013. As the end of November drew closer, I wasn't convinced I was going to make it but the challenge kept me going, so I think I'm going to embark on this one once again, this year. I quite liked keeping a record as I read through as well, so I will start another page for 2014.

Dressmaking
This one didn't go quite so well. Last year, I challenged myself to finish one item per month, but I really haven't managed that at all. I need to make more time for myself in order to try and do this again this year.

Allotment
I've managed to get my shed up this year, which has been an invaluable addition to the plot. I grew quite a lot of vegetables, but could definitely improve this year by spending more time there. I'd ultimately love some chickens and have a little BBQ area planned, so have my eye set on one of these.

Saving
I'm going to try and be a bit more sensible with my disposable income and save a much higher proportion of it. I think that if I set this up as a standing order at the start of each month, it will  be fine and I should meet my targets as I won't spend what isn't there.

Fitness
I guess this is ongoing. I think before I can put some numbers to it, I need to figure out what my goals are, but I want to make sure I keep up with my swimming, spinning classes, metafit and gym sessions and not just skip them when I don't feel like it.

Shoe Challenge
I'm definitely considering signing up to take part in Amber's shoe challenge, or something similar.

I think that's plenty to be going on with. What are your challenges for the year ahead?

  2. I have made any yet but I will, normally I have a pretty low success rate but you've got to try, right?
