I couldn't wait to put an outfit together for this dress. It was definitely one of my recent makes which I am considering a success. In the past I have made dresses, come to wear them and then decided I don't like them as much after all, maybe because they don't fit quite as well as I'd hoped, aren't the right length etc.

This one, however, I like. I'll definitely be wearing it again. Alex had been chatting about a pair of green boots the previous day, and I knew that I had vague memories of owning a pair. I managed to locate them and dig them out and remember that I do rather like them. I really need to get around to properly recording what shoes I own - I'm so forgetful, lately. Sometimes I'll see a pair on eBay and think "they're lovely" and then remember I actually own them: a sign that I have too many shoes....?

This coat was a recent rediscovery as well. I bought it from a small charity shop in Colwyn Bay several years ago, for the bargainous price of £10. I thought it was a bargain even before I'd seen the Jaeger label. I always feel a little Cruella in this coat, but I loved how dressy I felt wrapped in it, with a pair of green knitted hand-warmers to keep my fingers from freezing, too.

  2. Gorgeous dress!! I really want to try making my own, but I need to start on something a bit simpler I think, any suggestions?! I'm useless with a sewing machine (last time I ended up with loop the loops where I'd sewed...). And the boots are lovely too with the dress. Definitely not too many shoes though, always room for more :P

    1. You'll be fine, start off with a fairly simple pattern - PJs are good!

  3. I guess you only have to start worrying when you buy a pair before you realise you already own them!
    It's a great dress :)

    1. Haha, I've come close but thankfully never quite done that. I have been known to buy replacement pairs of shoes I loved from ebay though.
