How is everyone settling into the new year? Back to work and it all feels like so long ago, but this was my outfit for New Year's Eve. I have to admit I'm not a fan of NYE. I've never understood the hype, it's so overrated.

Thankfully the repairs and redecorating of the flat were finished by the 30th (just!) and I was able to spend a whole day sorting through some of the things I'd packed away, and rediscover oh-so-many things I'd forgotten I had.

I'd borrowed this dress from Sarah a little while ago, with the intention of wearing it on NYE but failing to track one down for myself. It's such a pretty party dress. I love the mix of colours and the open back detail.

Not much of a party, we just stayed in with drinks and looked for fireworks, but it was rather nice to have the flat all sorted - nice and freshly painted for the new year.

How did you celebrate?

  8. That dress is amazing, it's SOOOO sparkly! I hate NY too, although a Scottish Hogmanay is better than any other I always say. There's something special about it here. I've had a few good times when I used to go out when I was younger, but these days I don't do anything special at night. We always get dressed up and have a family meal the next day.

  11. Pretty dress!
I was already back to work before NYE and it wasn't until midday that I realised it was the 31st. I made little effort - I put on a dash of mascara and added a scarf to my my pretty uninspired outfit and drank wine with Andy whilst playing cards and watching the Godfather. it was actually a pretty nice evening. I hate the hype too, there is so much pressure to do something amazing. When I look at the crowds gathered in the capitals across the world I just wonder 'what do you do when you need to pee? The queues much be enormous!
Good to hear the flat is back to normal, that's a great way to start the year...
