Barry's Dress: Handmade by Dolly Clackett!
Instead of wearing the new things I've added to my wardrobe over the past few months (and there have been a lot of those!), for the past week or so I've been recycling outfits I've worn (and blogged about) in the past. I think I was hoping that if I wore an outfit I'd liked in the past, I'd like it again.

However, last weekend when I was at Sarah's for our little sewing bee, Roisin gave me this wonderful golf print dress. I've been looking for some similar fabric ever since she first made this dress but to no avail. Luckily for me, she'd decided she wasn't a fan of it anymore, so she very kindly gave it to me. I probably need to alter it a little, but laziness prevailed and I just wore it anyway.

I dragged this vintage purple necklace back out of the charity bag to go with the purple and red in the print of this dress and teamed it with these Shelly's flats. They look so nice and comfy, right? Um, wrong. I actually had a pair of these last year, wore them once and then sent them back as they were faulty and the paint or covering was coming off. Which after three hours of wear, wasn't good. I was sent an exhange pair, which I'd not worn until here. I ran back to the car in the rain in them and didn't realise until later on that day that they'd cut the backs of my ankles, which created a rather gross "peeling-off-tights" situation at the end of the day. Ouch.

I seem to be the only person in the world to whom this type of thing happens on a regular basis.

  3. Oh no, I had a pair of tights stick to my feet once when an evil pair of shoes did the same- you are not alone! And, I have had so many pairs of shoes do evil things to my feet within an hour of wearing them.
I bought a gorgoeus pair of fuscia flower wedges sandals in the NExt sale when I was 20 and wore them for a 4 minute walk to the pub and they cut weeping welts into my feet and SCARRED my feet! You wouldn't think it would be possible?! And evil Clarks wedges- worn for a 15 minute walk to my teaching uni and they cut my feet in that time and I could barely walk so I had to go and buy a pair of Converse to change into-thankfully the Brunswick centre was 5minute walk from uni!

I went over to Sarah's post- you look so utterly beautiful in Sarah's picture of you in the AMAZING map dress. Maybe you'd feel better about your appearance in outfits and photos if you faced onto the camera like in that picture, because it really did make you look even prettier and lovelier than I already think you are!x

  5. That dress looks fantastic on you! The shape's perfect. The shoes are really cute, but they sound painful! I've bloodied up the back of my feet before, and I remember how much that hurts. Ouch! If only shoes didn't blister and cut up our feet! xx
