After posting about the challenge, I'm not sure what took me so long to get this dress together. I'd had the fabric sat in the stash and knew that Simplicity 2444 was a Clackett favourite, so it's not as though it took me long to decide what I was going to make. I cut it out almost straight away.

I decided to cut out and add the waist tie to my dress because, even though I know Roisin doesn't tend to favour it, I really like it and I had enough fabric for it. I can't recall which website I ordered this fabric from in the end. I know that I'd actually ordered the synchronised swimmer print which Roisin has used for some of her dresses, but the company were out of stock so offered me either a refund or this beach lady print fabric instead. I went for this, although it just sat around waiting to be used for a while as I wasn't really that keen on it when it arrived.

Now that it's all made up and I've actually tried it on, I rather like it.I clashed it against this pair of shoes, which were the first pair in my #irregularchoicechallenge. I have decided to challenge myself to wear every pair of my Irregular Choice collection - one per day - until I run out. I know that my current collection runs into the hundreds, so this is going to be quite the challenge. Sorry, other shoes, but you're going to be a bit neglected for a while.

I started the challenge on Friday and you can follow my progress on Instagram (link in sidebar) and already, on Day 4, I've found two pairs I'd forgotten I owned. Cripes. This pair was one of those. I'd never worn them before. I had to search online to find that the style was called Time for Teddy. The teddy at the back of the shoes detaches on poppers at the ears. They're really comfortable and I'm wondering why I hadn't worn them until now.

And here endeth my post for my #sewdollyclackett entry too - do let me know if you have entered. I feel as though I ought to name this frock, in true Dolly Clackett style, but I'm at a loss. Suggestions welcome.

p.s. I've started to add things to my blog sale page once more. There are some Irregular Choice shoes and a brand new Oasis dress in there so far, and I'm collecting things quicker than I can take photos of them!

  8. How often do you make dresses? I am always in awe of those who are talented & make things more than I seem to get around to. Also side note - DAMN I want your screen! It's divine! x

    1. I love the screen, but for so long it's just been hidden away, I'm quite liking using it as a background for some of my photos lately. I do a little sewing each week, whenever I have time, which isn't often really. I've made 11 dresses this year, which isn't bad going as I'd made a New Year resolution where I challenged myself to make one per month this year.
