Is anyone giving anything up for Lent? I had a long think about what to do for it, yesterday. I then wondered why I was even thinking about it, as I'm not religious at all. But, giving up something can be a good thing, I suppose. I'm wondering about giving up spending. Or maybe things like cake and sweet stuff. Perhaps that will get me back on track with my weight loss and I won't feel as though I've ground to a halt anymore. Is anyone else giving anything up? Someone suggested coffee to me and I laughed. A lot.

As for my outfit, I don't have a lot to say about it, really. I haven't worn the dress for a while, and was reminded of it whilst trying to cram a lot of my recently made dresses into one of the wardrobes. I really ought to clear some out as the poor hanging rails look as though they are going to snap at any minute.

I think these Ravel heels match the details in the print of the dress quite nicely. Also, they're a little lower than my usual choice of heel, which makes me feel more comfortable with the short hemline on this dress.

Mostly, I just wanted to wear these earrings, which arrived yesterday. I'm getting more used to wearing earrings again, after a few years of not wearing any. Thankfully these ones are not heavy, despite their size, so I think they'll be totally fine to wear for a day without being uncomfortable.

  3. I like the outfit and the shoes, your hair looks great :) I could never give up caffeine unfortunately, I'm too much of a tea addict! I'm still contemplating giving up spending for Lent (not that I have much of a choice anyway) but there's so much I need for uni that it seems implausible. I'll think of something. Maybe pizza. xxx

    1. I suppose you could just give up the frivolous spending - like give up spending on clothes maybe but you can still buy the things you need for uni?

  5. Lovely dress, Char. Someone once suggested I give up tea for Lent. I also laughed in their face. Can't say I've ever done anything for Lent (not religious either) but instead of giving up stuff I might make more of an effort to set positive daily goals or do things I keep putting off.

    1. Haha, I couldn't give up coffee! I have done spending bans in the past and given up things like chocolate, but I don't eat a lot of that kind of thing anymore, so I'm struggling to think of anything.

  6. I don't think I've given up anything for lent since primary school. I went to a catholic primary school and was forced to be catholic as my Dad's side of the family all are. It wasn't for me. I thought about giving up shopping this year, but quickly talked myself out of that one! Haha! Love the dress you're wearing x

    1. I've totally failed at giving up shopping - bought a dress at Cath Kidston so far this week!
