Prom Princess (Purple) : Irregular Choice
During most of January and February I was really hoping for some snow. I love layering up in scarves and gloves and have quite the collection of furry coats, which just aren't the same in the rain, are they? But alas, we've managed to amass no more than a five minute flurry of snowflakes, so I'm turning my mind to the spring and embracing the start of the sunshine.

I recently picked the yellow pair of Prom Princess heels up from eBay for a total steal, to add to the mini collection I seem to have going on. The yellow were a colour I hadn't seen before, and they arrived in absolutely brand new condition. I bought the blue ones new a good number of years back and I've worn those a few times, and the purple from eBay, which haven't yet been worn.

I know that they existed in green, but the only pair I've ever seen weren't my size, so I bought them for Alex instead. I'm not sure about any other colours, but I shall continue the search.

I love the contrast in texture between the dainty print on the fabric and the shiny plastic of the heel. I think the floral print is so pretty, and a little reminiscent of Cath Kidston prints, with the fabulous heel shape which I think is unique to Irregular Choice. I have a few other pairs with this shape of heel which date back a few years, too, in other prints, but I'm not sure of their names.

I do get asked if they're a difficult to walk in because of the shape of the heel, but they really aren't. It sort of surprised me, too. I also get told they're weird, but that's something I've been told about a lot of my Irregular Choice collection. Each to their own.

What do you reckon? Are they too weird for you? I'm finally going to have a go at counting my Irregular Choice collection up; I'm going to wear and post a pair per day over on Instagram, using the hashtag #irregularchoicechallenge - join in if you like :)

  1. I'm loving your Irregular Choice instachallenge! I think their designs are amazing and I love seeing your awesome collection.
I'm still waiting for snow... based on previous years I remain convinced that summer won't come until we've had a whiteout, yet all evidence is pointing to the opposite right now.. xxx

    1. I sort of agree, the weather is being crazy lately. We had such a nice sunny day on Saturday, I was able to wear just a vest top and yet I think we're back to cold and rain by the end of the week..

  6. OOh, now I'd love to look at your shoe collection of ICs! I only have 3 pairs sadly, although I discovered I used to own a pair that I saw on ebay once- I got rid of them and didn't know they were ICs as I hadn't heard of the make when I bought them! I think these shoes are very pretty, I don't know if I could wear them until I tried them on- it's all about the comfort!x

    1. I'm always really excited when I manage to find a pair in a charity shop or in TK Maxx, which sometimes has them.

  8. I love Irregular Choice shoes and love these ones. I don't think they're weird, but if they are it's only in a good way! I guess they're just a bit daring for some people's tastes and confidence levels. I'd love to know how many you own! I'm following you now on Instagram, I don't know why I wasn't already! xx
