#irregularchoicechallenge Days 1-36

ICC Days 1-9
ICC Days 10-18
ICC Days 19-27
ICC Days 28-36
So, in case you hadn't heard, I've decided to take part in my very own Irregular Choice Challenge. Each day, I've been wearing a different pair from my collection of Irregular Choice challenge, and posting the photos on my Instagram page.

Since I know that not everybody has IG, I decided that I'd make a collage of the first 36 of my daily shoe collages and post a round-up over here, every now and then.

One thing I have learnt since I began, is just how little information I seem to know about so many of the styles - particularly the earlier ones. I don't know many of their names, and since I've picked up a lot of my collection second-hand, they haven't always come with their original boxes, so it's hard to know what their code numbers were either. A lot of the folks on Instagram undertaking their own IC challenges are much more knowledgeable about the names of the styles than I am, though, so it's been useful to have their help!

As a huge fan of Irregular Choice shoes (I know that, particularly with the more "out there" styles, I can be in the minority, as a lot of people seem to hate them), it's been a lot of fun so far to do this challenge. I've already rediscovered a lot of pairs I'd forgotten I had. (Days 6, 9, 23 and 36), I've got rid of one pair which really didn't fit anymore (Day 2) and I've worn a few more recent additions for the first time (Days 19 and 16 have been some recent and very lucky eBay wins and Day 33 was a recent voucher spend).

There are a lot more pairs to come, and I'm looking forward to sharing my favourites, but what I am finding is that I have been saving some of the more often worn pairs, my fallback ones as it were, for things like work events, and I'm trying to be strategic, so that I'm not left with several pairs of cowboy boots (of which I think there are at least 4 pairs) when the summer sun gets here!

Which day is your favourite, so far? Or are you not a fan of the brand at all?

  1. I do love those cats and bows! I don't think I'd wear IC myself because the shapes don't tend to be very 'me' but your challenge is showing me just how much variety there is in their styles - usually I just see styles with round toes and stumpy (in a nice way, but I can't think of a better word ahah) heels. I do like some of the higher pairs though - to be honest I'm afraid to buy a pair as I think I'd fall in love and get addicted, and I don't have money or space for any more shoes right now! xxx

    1. I know what you mean about the stumpy heels - the perspex ones are remarkably comfortable but have that chunky look about them.

  2. Great round up Char! I'm not an IC wearer (mostly because I only wear flat, sensible shoes!) but I love seeing them on other people. If I did wear heels it would be those! Just had a snoop at your instagram too and loved seeing all your different sewing projects, especially the cat dress!

  3. I think my favourite is day 29, I love the style and colour.
You have the most enviable shoe collection, I am really rubbish when it comes to shoes, I'm terrible for a girl!

  7. I love your challenge, I have yet to buy a pair of IC but I noticed that you have a pair of the gold boots that I was itching to buy. Sometimes I go through stages of wearing the same shoes during the week rather than wearing some of my other shoe collection, I think you have inspired me to get those shoes out of the boxes for a day! x

  8. So envious of this collection, I had a pair I wore to prom but ended up selling them because they were too high for me to bear wearing. Thanks for your comment on my latest post.... I will be OK eventually, I guess time heals all wounds right? xox

  9. Your Irregular Choice shoe collection is absolutely amazing, and I love almost all of them. I've always wanted to start collecting them, but I'm crap at walking in heels and can't wear them at all while my back is injured. It doesn't stop me from cooing over them every time I see them in a shoe shop, or on your blog, and one day I'll start collecting them. One day. I think they're very me, and they always look fabulous on you! Your shoe collection must be enormous! xx

  10. I really like day 11 and 22. I love the brand although I wouldn't be brave enough to wear some of the more 'out there' styles. I've been following this challenge on Instagram and have to say I'm enjoying it, you know that I love a good wardrobe challenge! I had no idea you had so many pairs of ICs, I mean I knew you had a lot of shoes but heck! this is one hell of a collection! How many more do you have left?

    1. Hundreds - I'm sort of a little bit scared of the challenge as it's going to be a real eye opener in terms of how many pairs I own and how many I've never worn.

  11. I still cannot get over that you own more pairs of Irregular Choice shoes than I own of ANY shoe. It blows my mind!

I love loads of IC shoes but the trouble is I have quite big hoofs and even their size 8s don't fit me sometimes. Boooooo hissssss.

Also they tend to be on the mahoosive heel side which means I'll never wear them out for fear of killing myself or because I'm ten foot taller than Neil.

But now I've read this I just want to buy some for no particular reason other than that they look pretty.

    1. They are pretty, and there are some rather cutesy kitten heels and flats. Everyone should have at least one pair, in my opinion ;)
But yeah, I agree, it's a little bit insane.
