I made this dinosaur print dress up last Sunday, after spending the day at the Sewing for Pleasure show at the NEC. I think the show must have inspired me as I managed to get it done in about 3hrs.
I put a waist tie on this but am wondering if I should have used a contrasting fabric or even left it out, as it's not really visible against the fabric, so really just creates extra bulk at the waist, which isn't something I need any help with.

I do however, really like the bias binding contrast, which we searched long and hard at the show to find.

On Monday, I decided that I couldn't wait to wear it anyway, and teamed it with my Disco Heaven heels.

Blogger Book Swap
In other news, I've been thinking for a while about setting up a blogger book swap. Would anyone be interested? Just a straight swap with another blogger to whom you can discuss and swap books you may have read and think they'd enjoy. If you'd like in, leave your email address on this post or drop me an email and I'll send out some details and start a spreadsheet!

  1. What an amazing dress! I'm so envious of your dress making skills. Now I can see why you'd be able to give up buying clothes in 2015! xx

    1. Aww, thanks! Well, I was looking at the sheer quantities of clothes I have as well, and it's crazy. I'm sure I never need to shop again.

  6. Just hopped over here from your comment on Amber's blog on a whim, and saw your gorgeous dress. I bought the same fabric at Sewing for Pleasure, only in cream and blue rather than black, for dress-making purposes! Great to see one already made up, and looking so fab!

  7. Great fabric...you probably wouldn't realise it was dinosaurs in the pattern until you got quite close, but just notice the beautiful colours. The shies are amazing too!

    1. Yeah, I sort of like the fact that it just looks rather colourful from a distance.
