Weekend Round Up..

IMG_0965[1]

This week has been a fairly stressful one and at one point, everything seemed to be getting too much. I got lots of great advice on my post on Wednesday, and the general concensus was that I need to make more time for myself and focus on enjoying the good things. So, without further ado, some of the things which have made me smile this week. I've had some lovely post this week, this package of goodies from Trayci's giveaway being just one of them - thank you!

I was sent some vouchers to try out the new Chicago Town Takeaway range of pizzas, which was well-timed as I had fussy Little Sis due to come to dinner. We went for the Four Cheese variety, which had heaps of cheese (I'm trying hard not to think of the number of calories) and a fluffy crust stuffed with spicy tomato sauce. It went down a treat!

My latest eBay purchase arrived; this wonderful owl bag. I gather he's called Terence (well, apparently Sarah's is, so I'm naming mine in his honour). I'm getting ever so addicted to cute, novelty bags lately, and have plans for a collection post.

MOAR lovely mail through my letterbox: pretty card and postcard from the wonderful Rosie, and I have to admit I forgot to take a photo of all of my penpal letters this week, of which there are many which I need to reply to!

Eating kale from my allotment has put a smile on my face this week. I even brought some of it's flowers back to fill a vase with, as they were such a pretty yellow colour. I'm sure they're not traditional blooms, but never mind. I've also been OD'ing on avocado. One a day keeps the doctor away, same as apples, right?

Thanks to Rachel, one of my #bloggerbookswap parcels arrived this week, with a lovely note and lots of yummy snacks which I'm looking forward to enjoying whilst reading my way through these and the other books which have been added to my To Read pile this week. (As I ended up with an odd number of sign ups for the book swap, I've paired myself up twice so that nobody missed out. I sent my two parcels out but forgot to take a photo of them, although Rachel posted a photo of hers, here, when it arrived.

I washed and ironed all of the fabrics which are currently waiting to be cut out and turned into dresses. After a conversation on Twitter where I confessed to not always washing my fabric before I sew it, I decided I would make more effort to - no point making a dress only to find that you shrink it on the first wash and it no longer fits. Now, all I have to do is find make time to sew.

    1. Aww, yes I love it - he came up in the ebay search when I found my owl bag as well. I'm going to try and refrain from buying more than one owl bag, though.
