A rare day off yesterday saw me entertaining a five year old for the day. We went to the park, had chocolate croissants and apple juice in a local cafe, went on the swings, did plenty of exploring, picked blackberries and turned them into blackberry muffins, shopped for shoes, and watched a Tinkerbell movie. I was super ready for a snooze and a slice of pizza when my friend got home from work.

That called for, I thought, a fairly casual outfit. My bookworm dress is an old favourite and I'd started out in a pair of ballet pumps, but for playing Tag on the wet grass in the local park, I decided to change into these patent brogues from Office, in an attempt to keep my feet as dry as possible. It kind of worked.

I also really liked these tights, so I'm going to make the effort to try and wear more of my patterned tights now that the weather seems to be turning.

Casual Tuesdays might be a new thing.

  1. Well, they're jolly nice shoes and tights! You're brave babysitting. My niece turns 5 in 2months and SOMEHOW I have avoided having to look after her thus far!x

  2. Lovely dress, not so keen on the shoes, but glad they did the job!

    1. I didn't think I'd like the shoes as much as I did when they arrived, to be honest. But so comfy and shiny and I liked the cut out flower details.

    1. Thanks, it's a firm favourite of all of the ones I've made, I think!
