Polka Dot Rain Mac: ASOS
I love it when people know you'll like something and they're so right. This dress became mine after one of my local vintage shops (in fact, the only one worth visiting!) contacted me to tell me they had something in which they thought I'd like. I stopped by and came away with this wonderful horse print handmade dress. I love it!

Despite wearing a fairly summery ice cream printed pair of heels, the weather refused to take the hint and I was forced to dig out my polka dot rain mac. I do have other macs, but this one is great because it's long enough to actually wear with dresses, so you avoid that horrid wet-patch-at-the-bottom thing which can happen with other macs. I also rather like the way it packs away into a nifty little package.

The cardigan is an old favourite. More polka dots! Why not? And the bag is one I bought last year and decided to bring out again as I'd not used it for a while. It's available in pink now on the website.

This week has mostly been about getting to grips with my new sewing machine, getting back into the swing of things after having this horrid cold, and sewing trillions (it seems!) of sequins onto my fascinator- which is almost finished! Oh, and an exciting meeting about Girlguiding and our county plans for the next year. I have a new county role and lots of ideas, so here's hoping that the people I want to help me share my vision.

Am really excited by the sound of your fascinator!
So chuffed that there are new Girl Guiding plans in your life: they'd be fools to lose your input!

    1. Haha, I'll show pictures of the fascinator when it's done - hopefully soon!
Yes, I'm still running one of the units I was anyway, and this new role should be a good new challenge for me :)

  3. How lovely that your local vintage shop contacts you with recommendations. It's rare to get that kind of service in London, you just have to rummage around in piles of stuff instead!

    1. I guess that's the benefit of being one of the few "weird dressers" in a small town.
