Lately I've had so many things to sew for other people that when it's come to sewing for myself, I've not had an agenda. Usually I've got a distinct plan of what's next to be used, and I've been trying hard to make sure that I use up the fabric stash I have before I buy any more.

I added this ballet dancer print fabric to an order I was placing with Ditto Fabrics last month because I liked the fact that the print was fairly muted so i'ts hard to see what it is from a distance. That said, it wasn't one I liked as much as the other two I ordered at the same time, and yet when I came to make something last weekend, this is what I chose. I then went on to make a Christmas dress so at least I'm ahead of the game there.

I felt like wearing it with pearls, so layered up some necklaces and dug these shoes out for another wear. It's so odd being able to wear just any pair of shoes now that my shoe challenge is over. I guess now I'll just go back to wearing my favourites and forgetting about the rest?

  1. That is a gorgeous outfit! I love the print on the dress, it really does look abstract from a distance. You've styled it beautifully too.

    1. Thanks, it's a little less in-your-face than most of the fabric I tend to go for I guess.

  3. What strange fabric, it just looks floral from afar. I really need to get a pair of Pearly Girly heels, they're lovely.

  4. I wish I could make dresses. You're so clever. I like how it looks like a random pattern from far away, then lovely lovely dancers close up :)

  5. It's pretty and goes so nicely with your pearly shoes! They were the aborted deer -wearing ones right?
