My latest make might be a little summery for the sleet we've been having this weekend, but it sort of filled me with joy when I'd finished it, so I wasted no time in wearing it for a day with friends and a 4th birthday party. I've certainly been favouring the Sew Over It "Betty Dress" pattern lately- I'd say half of the dresses I've made thus far this year have been a Betty.

I wore this with a petticoat underneath for some extra volume as I love how full the circle skirt is. I picked out this cardigan because it seemed to pick out the colour in the floral print quite well. This fabric was one of the ones I came back from Goldhawk Road with last summer.

I'm pleased to report that I seem to be making some headway with the fabric stash - I cleared out some of the pieces which I know I'll never use - some are listed on my sale page if fabric is your thing...

  2. It's nice to wear something bright and cheery when it's dull and deary outside and this dress is especially lovely - very springy.

I love a full skirt, swishing them about is one of my favourite things.

    1. It's funny because I tend to find that I shy away from florals most of the time, but this one jumped out at me for some reason.
