Sometimes, it's important to give yourself a chance to relax. Lately, I've been trying so hard to get my diet and my gym routine cranked up a notch, as well as juggling everything else. I've been eating right and I'm seeing a change in shape and a loss of inches in the important places (to me) and whilst there is still work to be done, I've been confident that I was on the right track.
And then, exhaustion hit me. Two gym visits per day (one swim, one either weights, or a fitness class such kettlebells, metafit, piloxing or spinning) was starting to take it's toll. So, instead of pushing myself even harder, I gave myself a day off. One day when I wouldn't be paying inordinate attention to every single calorie logged onto my Fitbit app.
My treat? Well, I went with this - possibly the best pizza I have ever tasted.
This is Chicago Town's limited edition BBQ Pulled Pork pizza from their takeaway range. It's got a stuffed crust, which is filled with BBQ sauce (one of my favourite things ever - the best part of barbecue season in the British summer, if you ask me).
And as for the topping? Well, it's pulled pork, which seems to be the buzz word in the food field, lately doesn't it?! (However did people manage to create pork dishes before they discovered they could "pull" it? I digress.) Also featuring onions and tonnes of cheese. Just amazing.
I managed about two and half slices and had to call it a day. But seriously, it was amazing and after gorging myself on it, I was able to revert back to the fitness regime the following day, with no regrets.
Chicago Town often have competitions and things happening on their Facebook page, or so I'm told. Thanks to them for providing me with a pizza to try out - yum!
