The only good thing to come from the collapse of my old clothes rail a couple of weeks back is that it's really kick-started my wardrobe clearout. Kind of. I've been gradually having a ruthless sort out of things which have been resident in my wardrobe for many years without being worn.
This dress has lived in my wardrobe for years. It was originally from H+M, but I didn't manage to find it there, not knowing of it's existence until it had been featured in Vogue magazine. It promptly sold out and became one of those things I hoped I'd track down one day. I managed to find one on eBay and loved it. It's button-front with a built in layer of yellow tulle petticoat, and when I rediscovered it last week I decided that I couldn't possibly part with it, even though it was a couple of sizes too big for me these days.
After a little alteration on my sewing machine, I managed to take the side seams of the bodice in and add some darts to the front in order that I could wear it again. I added another layer of petticoat tulle this bright pink one - and dug out this Accesssorize basket handbag with it's sequin flamingos. The flamingo obsession continues.
