Story of a Secret Heart - Cassi Ellen
There can't be many people out there who haven't experienced a broken heart at some point in their lives. That feeling of wondering just how we are going to carry on must be familiar to so many. I know that I can think back to moments of anxiety about just how I was going to attempt that "picking myself up and carrying on" thing that it seemed other people had down to a T.

Cassi's story shares exactly how she managed it. Written in such a friendly and down-to-earth style, it's easy to get sucked into Cassi's world and be carried along in her enthusiasm to dust herself off, pick up the pieces and carry on when she thought her world had come to an end.

People always say that the very best way to move on is to find a new focus, and that's the way our heroine, Cassi, tries to deal with her newfound single status in a country about as far away from home as she could get. She meets some new people and soon falls in with a whole new crowd that are worlds apart from the one she used to live in.

Yes, there were occasions where Cassi's actions seemed so naive that I despaired a little, but she shared her story in such an amusing and engaging way that most of the time it didn't really matter. Peppered with quotes and words of wisdom at the start of each chapter, this was a perfectly enjoyable read to accompany a couple of hours on the treadmill.
