I've been really excited about this dress since I finished it and haven't been able to wait to wear it, so I did so on my very first opportunity. For some reason, I couldn't find a black and white striped t-shirt to layer under it, but when I found this yellow one, I figured it would have much the same effect.
I had a bit of a moment of wonderment - are Breton stripes only navy / white? Or does yellow county? There's a cute #bretonloversunite hashtag on Instagram and I wasn't sure whether this would count or not.
Although the dress is perfectly wearable as a dress on it's own, I kind of liked the idea of layering it up like a pinafore and I think it works. The rotten weather in the mornings has had me reaching for the comfort of tights, although I'seem to regret that decision when the temperature warms up and we have to open all of the windows by about 3pm!
I'm still quite obsessed with these ASOS Pembury shoes as well, so couldn't resist wearing them again. They sort of match my floral handbag, which I'm using all the time lately - it's the perfect size...
