Fighting off the Mean Reds..

IMG_2566[1]

After a little emotional wobble last week, I feel as though things are back on track. A long conversation with one of my favourite people on Saturday and an evening with another one worked wonders to make me feel more like myself again. I'm pretty lucky and I am all about focussing on the lovely things at the moment. Here are some...

This super duper Audrey brooch turned up from Deer Arrow last week. I love Breakfast at Tiffany's so much - I remember reading the book as a child even before I discovered the beautiful movie and I definitely find myself channelling Holly when times get rough. I bought a pink dress from a local vintage shop on Saturday which totally reminds me of the party dress from this movie, too. Oops.

I made some progress with my PodDolly rag doll kit. She's all cut out and I'm super excited to get her done and share the whole process. I know that my sister would very much appreciate her but I think I want to keep her. Watch this space.

Other happy things from the weekend have included Parkrun, finally getting some time to do some selfish sewing, getting my Christmas cakes started (using this foolproof recipe), fresh bed sheets and a big clear out of some of the clothes I no longer wear. I'll gradually list them over on my sale account, but it's nice to have a little more space.

  2. Oh that dolly kit looks super cute. My Mum actually made me a doll a while ago, she customised it so it had pink hair to look more like me! I really love that brooch, did you have to order from Australia? I looked at UK stockists, but there wasn't much choice and not that particular brooch.

    1. I did have to order from Aus, I've not had any of their things before but couldn't find this one anywhere else so ordered direct. It was dispatched after 10 days and took a couple of weeks to arrive.

  3. Friends are all the help you need some times. Glad to hear you're feeling more yourself.
The rag doll kit looks super cute, I keep saying that I'm going to make one but it's one of those things that never seems to reach the top of my to-do list.
The brooch is cute, I love B@T's!
