Christmas Thrifty Gift Swap..

IMG_3854

Every year, Janet runs her Thrifty Gift Swap in the run up to Christmas. As a big fan of snail mail, I'm always keen to sign up. The rules are simple - you have a budget to send a festive parcel to your recipient. Making your money go as far as possible is the name of the game, and charity shop purchases, handmade and recycled / repurposed items are encouraged.

My swap parcel arrived from Liz and I have to say, I love every single item - everything is just so me and I'm particularly excited by the teeny tiny T-rex brooch. Charlotte Filshie is a new shop on me, but I love her dinosaur creations and will be visiting again in future, for sure. That's one of the things I love about these kind of swaps - finding new things, websites and sellers.

I feel as though Liz had me spot on when she was putting this parcel together. I mean dinosaurs, obviously - a brooch and an Xmas decoration. Also another brooch, from the wonderful Ladybird Likes.

I think it's common knowledge that I'm a big fan of snail mail (my work colleagues are always convinced that I'm single-handedly keeping the Post Office in business!) so I was very excited with new labels, stickers and cards to add to my collection.

Best of all, everything was wrapped in the box inside this creepy-cute Christmassy elf print scarf. At least I think it's a scarf..it certainly will be now. A big thank you to Liz for my parcel and to Janet for organising.

  2. That's a really cool idea. You got some lovely pieces. I'm also intrigued by the fact your profile says you have almost enough shoes to have a different pair every day of the year. Where do you put them all?

  3. What a lovely parcel of goodies! I'm so happy to see the first Thrifty Gift Swap box blogged. So far I've resisted opening any of my swap parcels but, reading this, I'm not sure how long I'll be able to hold on...

  4. Isn't it lovely how someone who doesn't know you can get it so right? I opened my Bloggers Secret Santa gifts and was so pleased with everything!
