Cinderella said to Snow White, how did love get so off course...?

Ria Dress: Joanie Clothing
Last night I had an absolutely lovely evening. I pootled off to Birmingham in my new car, which I still truly adore, headed to the Hippodrome where I was able to grab a table and cosy up with a book and a cup of coffee and fritter away an hour or so until it was time to find my seat for the ballet. BRB's current run is Cinderella and it's just fabulous. My favourite part had to be the lizards, mice and frog, as the costumes reminded me of a book I remember having as a child (my love of ballet is certainly something which was instilled in me at a young age by my Mama). But it was all amazing; the ugly sisters were played hilariously, the costumes were beautiful and the sets were amazing.

Coat: Miss Selfridge
I was pleased to have an excuse to wear a pretty new dress, which had been on my wishlist for a while. The Ria dress - yes, another dress from Joanie Clothing. Yes, I'm still fangirling over them. The Ria dress is the same beautiful fabric they used for the Harlow dress; midi length and sleeveless (tick and tick!) with a bow at the waist. I'm sold.

Also, my Miss Selfridge coat is the only one I purchased this winter. I'm definitely not seeing as many coats I like as I used to, or possibly I already have all of the coats, so I don't need to add to my collection. I have parted way with three so far this week, though, so I don't feel all that bad about them.

Into The Wild bag: Yoshi*
I still adore my Yoshi woods bag, too. The perfect size for all of the essentials, yet small enough to get away with being an evening bag. Perfect! So, having had a thoroughly pleasant evening in my own company I came to the conclusion that it's not as scary as I thought to be alone sometimes. And in fact, sometimes it can be better than clinging onto something which is causing you misery.

Carpe Dien heels: Irregular Choice
Today's been a mixed bag so far. Powercuts and crazy weather this morning, with a hospital appointment this afternoon. Woop. On the plus side, I now have a weekend in Paris to look forward to.

  1. Nice to see some smiley Char. I think Joanie girl, being such a new business must be so pleased with such an emphatic supporter! Hurrah!
Oooh, when are you off to Paris? Literally this weekend or in the next few weeks or months?

Do I owe you a letter at all? I'm trying to catch up on my correspondence this weekend and a little bit lost with where I am with all my various penpals!
Have a lovely Friday and weekend!x

  2. Well a date with yourself at the ballet sounds wonderful. Being able to be alone is a wonderful thing, I much prefer it sometimes, you can suit yourself and not have to worry about anyone else. It's somewhat selfish but it doesn't hurt once in a while.
    The dress is fab!
    Enjoy Paris!
