Friday Favourites 125..

Victory Ava
001: Victory Patterns Ava dress, $12.95
BY Hand Kim
002: By Hand London Kim dress, £14
With less than a week to go until Christmas, all I really want is some more time. It seems there is more and more to fit in and I'm getting behind - I've had a few days this week where everything was just taking so much longer than it should have!

But, once the big day is out of the way, I'm hoping to have a few days to myself and get some sewing done for me, rather than for other people. I've been fancying adding to my pattern library and these two dresses are the ones which are topping my wishlist at the moment.

001: This dress first caught my eye when I saw Zoe's incredible wedding dress. The pattern also reminds me of one of my favourite Orla Kiely dresses, which is definitely something I fancy recreating, so I'm definitely eager to get my hands on this and give it a go.

002: The Kim dress isn't one which struck me as very "me" when I saw it's website photos. The layered skirt is not for me. But after seeing Roisin's beautiful example with the wonderful pin tucks, I was sold.

What are you wishing for at the moment?

  1. I too was enamored with Roisin's dress!x

  2. I'm keen to try out some new sewing patterns too, BHL's Kim dress being one (with the gathered skirt) and the Holly jumpsuit. I'm also seriously tempted by Tilly's Francoise dress as I like the fun, 60s silhouette. Might have a little pattern splurge in the new year!

    1. I'm not a fan of 60s styles on me, I'm not convinced they suit me at all. I bought a coat pattern at the weekend, so I'm going to give that a go first.

  3. I could imagine you in these styles very much - hope you get chance for some relaxing sewing over Chrimbo! X
