Living next door to Alice..

Dress: Handmade // Cardigan: H+M
Shoes: Irregular Choice // Bag: Topshop
Brooch: Tangerine Menagerie // Necklace: George
Coat: Tara Starlet // Tights: Thighs the Limit

OK, so one of the dresses I have managed to make this year, rather last minute and in order that I could wear it to the #IrregularAlice launch in London a couple of weeks ago. The Alice fabric has been sat in my fabric trolley for a while now and I'd originally bought it with my sister in mind, who then decided that she wanted something else entirely last time I made her a dress. This meant I had plenty of fabric, and I went with my go-to Bette pattern. Partly because I know I can knock it together in a couple of hours and had very little time to get this one made, and in part because I like this pattern best at the moment, hence why I return to it all of the time. That said, I'm looking forward to adding to my dress pattern repertoire when my new Gertie Book arrives.

I've already worn this dress a couple of times. Although I tend to shy away from  paler / white background fabrics when I'm fabric shopping, I actually like that the mix of colours in the print lends itself to a lot of colour. I am totally embracing coloured tights lately and am pleased that I recently managed to track down a new lilac pair in a local shop, to replace my old favourites.

Any chance to wear my favourite Tara Starlet coat has to be a winner. And speaking of wins, I was pleased with these shoes, which I managed to win on eBay for a mere £10.50 recently. I've been trying to track a pair of them down for years now!

This week has been a bit of an odd one. Super, crazy busy, with all kinds of work dramas but also kind of lovely at the same time, so I can't really complain.

  1. You look so pretty!! I love the great combination of garments! The cardie with that Amazing brooch are fab!! Xx

  2. LOVE the Alice fabric, and the little Alice brooch too - so cute and what a great match :)
I've got the new Gertie book - pre-ordered it to arrive on the day it was released, yay - and it's amazing. I can't wait to get started on some of the pieces!

    1. Thanks so much, I can't wait for my Gertie book to arrive - hopefully soon!

  3. I love dresses like these that you can wear with loads of different colours and 'change' it every time. Lovely print.

    1. Me too, I think it's going to have a lot of outfit potential.
