This blazer was something I added to my ASOS 'saved items' list ages before Christmas, stalking it until the price came down a little more and trying to strike the balance between waiting for a reduction and it selling out. (That's a game I play often with the more pricey things on ASOS, and quite often get frustrated when they are no longer in stock). I finally bought it in the January sale, since which time it has sat in my wardrobe room in it's plastic bag packaging, taunting my inability to decide what to wear with it. Until this morning.

Recently, shorts seem to be my go-to item for a 'dress-down' outfit, and given that I was feeling pretty exhausted already this week, as well as still having another 'dress smart' day of meetings this week, I figured today called for a dress-down outfit. Cue shorts, basic vest, tights and pumps, and the suitcase blazer, drawn together with a skinny yellow belt. I used to be a big, elasticated waist cinch belt kinda girl, but more recently these have been shunned for their colourful, skinny little cousins, of which I've built up quite a collection recently.

What's your go-to item when you favour slouchy comfort over fashion-forward style?

  2. Great post! Well done on breaking the blazer's virginity so to speak, haha.
I know what you mean about items getting lost in the wardrobe before they've been worn.
Also, totally agree on the belts. I was really into chunky waistbelts but not it's all about skinny ones :)

  3. That is one mighty statement blazer! Is it bad that pj bottoms are always my go to thing for comfort, but only if i'm staying in. I haven't branched out to shopping in the pjs yet! Although I did go to the drive thru in them.

  5. It was worth waiting for the blazer - such a gorgeous print! I'm always in skirts and t shirts (um, wearing that right now...), so you're one-upping me for basics (: xxx

  11. I love your blazer, so unusual! For slouchy comfort I'm all about jeans, a t-shirt and loose boy fit linen blazer. Only suitable in the summer though, in winter I swap the blazer for an aran knit cardigan and one of my woollen coats.
