I feel ever so cultured of late. I was at the theatre again yesterday evening, to see the annual dance show in which my friend performs with her classes. It was an enjoyable evening all round and she was great.

I always think the theatre is somewhere to dress up a little, whatever you're off to see. Maybe it's just me, but I like the idea of sequins and prom dresses, with heels and a cute clutch bag as you're teetering around for your interval drinks.

But then, saying that, there isn't really any situation I can think of where I'd be all that comfortable in jeans and trainers, as some of the audience seemed to be. I think it's partly me; I'm just drawn to dressing up that little bit more..?

What would you wear to the theatre?

  1. You look fabulous. I think the theatre is a place to dress up, I like the idea of a cape teamed with a maxi, maybe some sparkle thrown in for good measure,
It seems to more and more acceptable to wear jeans to anything these days... at least dress them up with something pretty!

  2. Those shoes are killer. sexy AND prim at the same time!
for some reason i really like the idea of wearing a cape to the theatre... not like a full-on halloween dracula affair, but like a little velvet capelet type thing. dunno why... i just think it would feel "right" :-p

  3. I could never wear jeans to the theatre! I would feel like I hadn't made any effort! Like you, I would choose either a cute dress or a skirt with a little pump and a cute knit, most likely! I love to get dressed up-any excuse! why not!
You look absolutely gorgeous and I love that china blue print. It looks wonderful on you x
