I've had Hungry Designs saved in my Etsy favourites for so long now that I almost can't remember how I first found it. I think it may have been a sidebar link from The Dainty Squid or Scathingly Brilliant or one of the other awesome US bloggers I wish I was as cool as...?

Anyway, I finally got to the point where I had a little cash in my paypal account and was flicking through my bookmarks until I was reminded of these brooches and decided to order one, using a promo code which Amanda was running in July (I'm not sure if it's still going).

After a bit of a struggle to decide between the T-rex and the Triceratops (and also deciding I want to make a dress which looks like this one) I placed my order, and then kind of forgot about it, as I didn't expect anything to arrive from Australia all that quickly. This was only ten days ago and I picked it up this morning, after the "tried to deliver" card was pushed through my door yesterday - I'm really impressed with the speed of it's arrival as well as the brooch itself.

I probably ought to admit that the inspiration for being rather drawn to the idea of a dinosaur cameo brooch probably comes from Kurt's hippo brooch in Glee. This is about one million times better, though. I also probably ought to point out that this was my own purchase, which I wanted to share; not endorsed in any way. (Plus, my hair looks like shit today so I didn't take any outfit photos.) I can't wait to wear it!
