On the whole, when I'm shopping for fabric I tend to shy away from pale backgrounds. I'm a bit of a spiller - when I was a kid nobody ever had to ask what I'd had for school dinner, as it would be down my front.

However, sometimes there's a fabric where I decide the print is worth the fact that it's so pale, and this house print was one of those. It seems I'm a little obsessed with house prints at the moment - my fabric stash is currently home to the CK Townhouse fabric, one Xmas themed house print and another house print fabric which I found when we were at the quilting show. I can't wait to get them all made up - I have SO much fabric to work through at the moment that I'm not planning to buy any more until I've made a significant dent in what I currently have. I also seem to be building up quite the list of projects and commissions which I need to get moving with. I much prefer sewing for myself, but I'm a bit hopeless at saying no!

For Day 4 of #OWOP I wore this house print 2444 with a pair of poodle kitten heels and this flower belt, which I picked up from the Primark sale back in July for £3. I really love it. I had it in mind when I was putting this dress together actually, as I think it goes well with the colour in the dress.

  2. You really do look pretty in this with your hair up. SUCH a nice print!! Really sweet and delicate. You're right, the belt goes well. Your waist looks tiny in that picture.

I was looking at the Cath Kidston house dress yesterday-they've got very Char-ish materials at the mo.

I pinned out the pattern pieces for my CK house print dress - I think I want sleeves!

  5. Totally gorgeous! I wish I could sew :(
I agree about light patterns, more often than not I spill something down the front of me and end up wishing I'd worn something dark! Sigghhhh
