Well, we're done! It took me 222 days but I've worn a different pair from my Irregular Choice collection each day until I ran out. I know that I've posted most of these before in previous updates, but I sort of liked the idea of seeing them all together.

There's not a lot to say about my last 6 pairs. I didn't save any for last in particular. I found it really useful around Day 190 to make a list of the pairs I hadn't yet worn. I then used that list each day to choose a pair and create a outfit around it. But I'd already worn most of my favourite pairs by that point.

I'd toyed with the idea of hanging on for my Balletomane heels to arrive and be my Final Pair. But as they have only just left China for the UK I don't think I'll be getting them anytime soon, which is really frustrating.

I'll also point out that some of the pairs I wore for the challenge I've subsequently got rid of - counting up I make a total of 9 which have either been thrown out due to holes in them (Days 51 + 58, much to my sadness) or found better homes because they no longer fit me. My feet have changed by at least one size since I first started collecting Irregular Choice shoes and some of the pairs I came to wear were just too big. I've not kept track of how many of the pairs were purchased during the course of the challenge.

So, will I continue to add to my collection? Well, if Irregular Choice can manage to provide decent customer service in the future, then it's fairly likely. If however, they continue with the poor quality of service I've been experiencing recently, it's possible I won't.

Do you have any favourites?

  1. I'm on my phone in the car so it is hard to see properly but thee was a pair of white and mint shoes I loved plus most of the boots. They're all pretty special. Hope they sort you out. I went to Carnaby street yesterday and tried some turquoise glitter brogues in but they were too big! I bought doc martens instead! X

    1. I loved doing the challenge and seeing them all together at the end like this, but they've not really sorted anything out and have just gone from bad to worse in terms of their customer service.

  4. 222 pairs?! That is brilliant and insane! I love that you've managed to stick to your challenge. It's so hard to narrow down favourites but I'm going to go with 15, 54, 57, 113, 177, 206 and your last pair 222

    1. SO many cute picks in that little lot - I love Why Not (Day 206) and am pleased that my challenge is finished now so that I can wear them more.

  5. Said it before, but 'well done'! Brilliant challenge to do. Your views echo mine too, I can recall getting to the point where I just had to start writing them all down and being methodical and pre-planning for weather and occasion. It's really strange when you come out of it and can do what you like!

    1. Haha, it's so odd. I've worn "boring" shoes all week this week.

  6. Char, I'm shocked - I actually thought your collection would take you well into 2015! It's a shame to hear you sound so down on a brand that you clearly love at the end though :( I only have one pair of IC - the blue lucky cats ones which I've definitely seen in your collection but can't see now. I also love the Day 113 ones (Cheese on Toast?) - I remember Alex buying them a couple of years ago but they'd already sold out in my size :( :( :(

    1. Aw, 113 are lovely, they're called Burmese but I can't remember when they came out.
I know, I was surprised that I had no idea at all how many I had.

  7. It's so nice to see them altogether. Day 121 are still my absolute favourites.
I only have one pair of ICs (Day 54 in a diff colourway) and I adore them. This has been a great challenge, I don't think I could have kept it up for this long!

    1. Day 121 are one of my first pairs; there's something about the way the straps wrap around the foot that make them so dainty.
