I kind of hate the idea of Casual Fridays. Apparently that's a thing. Since I don't really have a dress-code (only a self-imposed one), I'm not sure that the term even really applies to me anyway. But I rebel against it, nonetheless.

This is (shamefully) the first outing for my crane print Lindy Bop Lana dress, which was a Christmas present from my mum. It's a lovely swishy fabric with a rather shiny satin feel to it, and I felt the skirt was just crying out to be enhanced by a petticoat, which I've added underneath for extra swish.

I love this sequin jacket and I don't wear it as often as I'd like to, so when I realised that it was a rather perfect colour match to that of the cranes, that was all the encouragement I needed. It also meant that I didn't have to go home after work to get changed before heading out for the evening - a timesaving win.

How do you feel about sequins for daytime?

  1. Ahh, you look pretty in it. I really do like Lindybop dresses, they're very well made. How's the sleeping? Is it any easier yet?x

  2. I don't get casual Friday - it's either appropriate to wear jeans to work or it's not; why does it being Friday make a difference? It all seems a bit "look how wacky and fun OUR office is!" and, if you have to make a big thing of that, you're probably not as wacky and fun as you think...

    1. Yeah, it's a weird thing. Our office tend to wear jeans anyway. Not me, though.

  3. As a teacher I don't really have casual Fridays but I do have to wear sports clothes on PE days. I hate it!

  4. Have you seen the lewis carroll white rabbit fabric in John Lewis sale? Thought of your cute dresses! I think I'm going to make a pocket skirt out of it. (blue / cream shades)

    1. Thanks, it's my first Lindy Bop dress and I'm really impressed. I'd definitely like more. When the spending ban is over.
