Tilting at the windmills passing..

Dress: Laura Ashley (last worn here)

On Friday I had a bit of an emotional meltdown about my body (again!). Anyone who knows me will know this is a fairly regular occurrence, but when it came to the evening, all I wanted to do was go to bed and cry. I couldn't do this as we had tickets to the ballet, so I had no choice but to go and find something to wear.

Helpful friend G suggested I start with some shoes, and I went for these turquoise Little Tipple heels, on the basis that I was walking to the theatre and know that this is a pair I can wear with ease for a day and to walk a distance - they're very comfy. I've written about the pink version here.

Little Tipple heels: Irregular Choice // Tights: M+S

This dress is one I picked up years ago in the Laura Ashley sale and despite it no longer being the right size, I've never been able to bring myself to get rid. A hasty alteration to the bodice, and all it needed was something to cover my shoulders.

Friday evening was pretty mild and although there was a little misty rain in the air after the ballet, it wasn't so bad, so my stole didn't end up smelling like wet dog.

    1. Thank you. There are many dresses which I really ought to alter so that I can still wear them.

  4. For what it's worth I think you look amazing! But I know from my own experience that when you feel like that it doesn't really matter what people say! Hope you managed to have a good evening and enjoy the ballet x
