|Death at the Seaside - Frances Brody|
Good morning and happy Tuesday! I'm pleased to be part of the blog tour for a lovely new book which is released on Thursday. Death at the Seaside is the eighth in Frances Brody's Kate Shackleton mysteries, although I'll admit it was my first taste of Kate's adventures.
Since nothing ever happens in August (famous last words?) Kate decides she is going to take a holiday, planning to visit friends in Whitby. Upon her arrival, the discovery of a murdered shopkeeper and the mysterious disappearance of her god-daughter has her immediately intrigued.
Reminiscent of the Daisy Dalrymple nysteries, I really enjoyed Brody's writing style and followed Kate's journey to uncover the truth with intrigue. Falling safely into the cosy crime genre which has had such a comeback of late, this is the perfect series to keep just about any sleuth interested as they try to piece together the reasons for Felicity's disappearance, and figure out who might have wanted the local jewller dead?
