It's been absolutely yonks since I joined in with one of these, but I did quite a bit of work on my current knitting project whilst I was in France, and unlike the usual measure of things (which is to set it down when I get home and then promptly forget about it for ummm...ages), I've actually kept some momentum with this. I suspect that'd because it's nearly finished, and knits up quite quickly so I'm seeing progress.
I'm making a mermaid tail blanket from a BlackSheepWools kit I bought at the Hobbycraft show last year. It seemed like a nice contained project to take with me on holiday, with the added bonus that I knew I had everything I needed for it in the kit. (Always a gamble trying to figure out how much wool you're likely to get through on something you've not knitted before, I've found.)
As for books? Well, I'm currently in the midst of a couple:
- Right Here Waiting for You - I'm currently reading this on the treadmill on my Kindle. Written by someone I've followed on Twitter for a long while, I was confident that she'd have written something great and she really has. The perfect summer read.
- The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet - I picked this up in Shakespeare and Company when I was in Paris, because the other three were all reading the same thing. And I have to say, much like anything Alex recommends to me, I'm really enjoying it..
Read anything good lately?
