Where did the party go?

We're a month into the new year and I've been pondering just what it means for my little corner of the internet. In fact, for most of my lunch break today my finger has been hovering over the "delete blog" button as I'm just not sure that I have a lot to share on here anymore.

I guess a few things have happened over the past year or so which make blogging (for me) a little different than it used to be. There have been some big changes in my life, which I neither want nor need to share, but lately it's meant that where in the past my first thought may have been to share it, now it feels like more of a chore to keep up with posting over here.

I'm not sure what the future of this little space is. My photo hosting site (Flickr) seem to be sending regular emails about increasing their prices, so I've decided to give myself until the current subscription runs out (November) and see how much I've shared and make a decision after that.

We'll see. And if you're still here..how's 2020 treating you?

  1. I'm still here! Hello!

I've started making notes through the month of (usually insignificant) things I can share on the first day of the new month. It's just enough to keep me here - because I do want to be - without any of the pressure or guilt I feel if I don't post "properly" for ages. It gets a bit disheartening, hardly getting any response, but I miss if I go too long without.

    1. That's a great idea - I think it's when I sit down to "blog" I tend to find myself thinking "but what can I share?!" so perhaps a similar list would help me.

    2. I agree with the list idea! I also found that doing a challenge like Blog every day in January helped me with getting back into posting a bit more! I decided I wanted a craft post, an outfit post, a book post, a places I've been post, a food post, a List post, a review post, a 'discuss this issue and my own opinions on it' post etc and quickly I had lots of posts!

  2. It's such a shame that most of the first blogs I ever stumbled across are being deleted - whether it's due to time issues or pressure to post regularly or whatever. I like an old-school blog and will miss your updates if you decide to delete it.

  3. Hi Char! Lovely to hear from you. I'm still here reading, although haven't blogged in over a year. There have been a few big life changes at my end too, good and bad, and it has left me pondering whether to keep my blog as I haven't felt prepared to share anything. Part of me really misses it though. I've continued to enjoy reading blogs, so I likely will return at some point in some capacity.

Wishing you all the best, whatever you choose to do.

    1. I know that feeling - to delete it felt a little bit too final, although I can't see it ever being added to with the enthusiasm it once was.
